July 29, Sunday from 6 to 7:30 PM. FREE Concert “Opera in the Italian Cultural Garden” 990 East Blvd. Cleve. OH 44108. Famous songs from well known Italian operas performed by Opera Per Tutti. Free parking in lot across from the garden and street parking on East. Blvd. 250 chairs but bring your own to ensure a seat. New this year: wood fired pizzas and porchetta sandwiches. August 25, 2012, Saturday, Albanian Cultural Garden dedicates their Mother Teresa statue and marks the beginning of construction of the Garden at 691 MLK Jr. Drive, immediately north of the rail bridge and on the east side of MLK. Parking on East 88th. More details to follow.
August 26, 2012, Sunday from Noon to 5 PM. Annual One World Day. Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation’s celebration of the Gardens. Centered at the Irish Cultural Garden, MLK Jr. Drive, immediately north of the Superior Road overpass. Celebrate with the kick off parade of flags, see immigrants swore in at an official Naturalization ceremony, and enjoy ethnic food, dancing and music. Free (fee for food). Free parking along MLK and East Blvd near the Garden. Free, guided tours of the Gardens on Lolly-the-Trolley starting at Noon from the Irish Garden.
September 13, 20, & 27, plus October 4 (Thursday evenings) for the annual Cleveland Italian Film Festival at the Cedar Lee Theater in Cleveland Hts. and the Capitol Theater, West 65th at Detroit, Cleveland. Award winning films from Italy with English subtitles. Pre-film dinners before each film. Helps benefit the restoration of the Italian Cultural Garden. November 11, 2012 Veterans Day marked with ceremony in the Italian Cultural Garden at the Mount Grappa memorial in the Garden. Details to follow.
