Born in Dublin, Victor Herbert is one of the most famous composers of light opera (operettas) as well as an accomplished musician and conductor. He founded American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), which protects the rights of musicians. The bust was dedicated in 1960 by the Irish Cultural Garden League. It subsequent went missing and in due time will be restored to its original pillar which remains unscathed in the Irish Cultural Garden.@import url(/css/page-cms.css)
