German Cultural Garden’s 2010 Activities

Posted by on February 24th, 2011

Working hours: 174 by our volunteer of which 136 were done by the Kopp Family.

Plating was done in the fall for perennials; about $200.00 for Cultured Day Lillis and Hostesses.

Cleaning up of the leaves was done by 7 Persons in November who worked about 4 hours each.

All the spring flowers (annuals) were stolen, therefore we do not plan to plant annuals again whit exception of marry gold’s, which I will plant from seeds and put them out in June when the thieves no longer look for spring flowers.

Our biggest problem is the facts that the city still has not repaired the connection of the water, which mean that when I do plant flowers I do have to haul 40 gallons of water from home.

When can we expect the city to respond to a simple request?

Now on the positive; which was our garden concert in July. We had three bands there although very few people.

We will attempt to have an other garden concert during the second Sunday in July, but we question if it is worth our effort if can not be promoted more by the Garden and the city.

Regards

Hans Kopp

Chairman of the German Cultural Garden.
