British Cultural Garden Report on 2010 Activities

Posted by on February 24th, 2011

Maintenance of the British Garden was continued by members of the supporting organization, Daughters of the British Empire in Ohio, Inc., Westminster Chapter.

Members worked in the Garden, once a week, from the end of March to the end of November.  Fallen branches were gathered into piles for removal by City workers and the flower beds were mulched, then weeded and trimmed on a weekly basis.  Members were grateful for assistance on two occasions, from CWRU volunteers and Orange High School volunteers.

Fundraising continues by DBE members, in order to repair the crumbling brick structures.  Requests were made to other British organizations in the Cleveland area.

Annual One World Day Celebration. Members participated by:

4)  Giving a talk on the history of the CCGs during festivities in the Hungarian
