Hungarian Garden 75th Anniversary Event, Saturday, July 20, 2013, 2:30 PM on MLK level
Saturday, July 20, 2013, the Hungarian Cultural Garden, 1071 MLK Jr. Drive, will mark the 75th Anniversary of the Hungarian Garden with opening ceremonies at 2:30 PM on the MLK level of the Garden. The opening ceremony will be followed by the dedication of the new Legacy Wall, a short history of the Garden, Hungarian songs, performances by two different Hungarian Folk Dance troupes, and poetry readings. Light refreshments will be served and pictures taken of sponsors of the Wall. Visitors will also be able to see the very recent restoration of the Szeke Gate on the East Blvd level, the new rails and hedges along the stairs between levels, and the new decorative sculptures on the wall at the top of the hillside in the Garden. Parking on the west side of MLK as well as the east side of East Blvd is free and available to all. Bring chairs to sit in for the program. A limited number of seats will be available.
