St. Sava & Serbian President Tadić at the Serbian Cultural Garden, September 21, 2009

Posted by on September 21st, 2009

A dramatic, golden sculpture of St. Sava will be dedicated at the Serbian Cultural Garden on the occasion of Serbian President Boris Tadić’s visit to Cleveland and the Garden on Monday, September 21, 2009.  President Tadić’s visit is due to the efforts of Serbian Cultural Garden delegate, Alex Machaskee.  A fitting honor for Alex and the Cleveland area Serbian community as well as the new Serbian Cultural Garden.  And St.Sava’s addition to the Garden also marks the continuing efforts of Alex and Lex Machaskee, together with the Serbian community, to bring an increasing number of Serbian cultural icons to the attention of the general community as well as promoting the expanding value of the Cultural Gardens.  St. Sava was the founder of the independent Serbian Orthodox Church, patron of education and medicine, the first Serbian legislator, and one of the most important figures in Serbian history.
